Within the last few months, artists have been releasing some amazing albums, of all different genres, whether it be pop-punk or alternative. Out of the many that were released in the months of Aug. and Sept., these are three that you do not want to miss.

Halsey

Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Frangipane, is an up-and-coming artist who just released her first album on August 28th, entitled “Badlands.” Halsey incorporates new, different sounds in her songs, which gives her music a new-age, alternative feel. Each track is beautifully produced, each more dynamic than the last. Halsey’s lyrics are also full of mature and rebellious content. For her first album, Halsey definitely did not disappoint.

Recommended Songs: Roman Holiday, Gasoline, Young God

Neck Deep

Neck Deep is a pop punk band from the United Kingdom who just released their third album, “Life Not Out to Get You.” If you enjoy bands like Sleeping With Sirens or Sum 41, you may enjoy their music! The tracks feature intense basslines, sick drum beats and stunning guitar riffs. The lyrics to their songs are clever and thoughtfully written, while dealing with issues such as heartbreak and failure. Neck Deep’s new album is definitely their best to date.

Recommended Songs: Smooth Seas Don’t Make Good Sailors, Kali Ma, December

Oh Wonder

Oh Wonder is a band made up of two artists, Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West. Together, they wrote, recorded and produced their entire album from their home in London. Their new self-titled album was released on September 4, and it is their first album to be released. Oh Wonder’s music has an alternative sound with some hints of R&B, and that combination of genres gives an old-timey feel with a new-age spin. The tone of their music is mellow and their lyrics are beautifully written.
