Pottery, painting, drawing, oh my!

Student in Ms. Rose’s Advanced Art class create individual projects

Lexi Oliver experiments with newspaper to create Loui Jover inspired portraits. The Advanced Art class allows students to create their own curriculum and pursue the artistic path that suits them best.

Students in Ms. Rose’s Advanced Art class are given a unique opportunity: to choose their own artistic areas of interest. A student wants to look into pottery? Sure. Collage? Why not? What about a project in the stairwell? Anything is possible for an artist in this class. Ms. Rose asks for a student to choose their projects at the beginning of the school year, and to plan out what they will do throughout the year. Students choose their projects based on interests, college aspirations, or for entering contests such as the Scholastic Art and Writing contest.
