Five Quick Breakfasts To Change Your Life

These four fast toasts will make your morning brighter.

For the Hungry: A Big Ole’ Bowl of Oatmeal

Great for test days, oatmeal fills you up without making you crash later. Just a half cup of old-fashioned rolled oats, a cup of water, a dash of salt and you have a wonderful, wholesome meal.

Bonus Points If You: Add cinnamon, bananas, and honey for a bit of flavor.

For the Rushed: A Variety of Toasts

From peanut butter to avocado, the possibilities are endless. Pop a bread of your choice in the toaster, wait a minute, and bask in the fruits of your efforts.

Bonus Points If You: Season your avocado toast with chili powder and lime, then top with a sunny-side up egg. If you go the peanut butter route, try it with some banana and chia seeds to give your developing brain some much needed omega-3 fatty acids.

For Those Who Really Can’t Be Bothered, Like, At All: Smoothies

All your ingredients can be put in a bag and frozen overnight, to be plopped into a blender the next morning. All you need is a base, like almond milk or whole milk, and the rest is up to you. My personal favorite is a smoothie with unsweetened almond milk, bananas, spinach, chocolate protein powder and some cinnamon.

Bonus Points If You: Include a vegetable! You can, of course, go all fruit in your smoothie, but all that sugar can catch up with you later and leave you napping in math class.

For the Cooking-Challenged: Yogurt

Buy a big thing of Greek yogurt or even a pack of pre-flavored yogurts, and the world is your oyster. If you are preparing your own yogurt every morning, Fage, Chobani, and Siggis are some Greek yogurts that taste great without any other additions and have low sugar.

Bonus Points If You: Throw in some chia seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and honey. It tastes like Christmas. Every. Single. Time.

For The Daring: Eggs

You would need a good ten minutes to do this, including some clean up time. If you are into it, get your pan out, crack some eggs and fill your body with a great mixture of protein, fiber and iron.

Bonus Points If You: Grease the pan with olive oil and garnish your egg with salt and pepper. A timeless combination, you will never grow tired of the satisfaction that comes from a well-seasoned egg.
