The St. George’s varsity football team beat Harding in the final seconds of the game thanks to a last-minute field goal on Oct. 24. The Gryphons went into the second half losing by one, but in the last seconds of the game, junior Graham Hawthorne, kicker for the Gryphons, scored a field goal and brought the score to 9-7, giving the Gryphons the victory against the Lions. After the game, the team hoisted Hawthorne onto their shoulders as the fans stormed the field.
