Vegetarians embrace Flik

Vegetarians reacted with mostly positive reviews regarding the new Flik services during the first week of school.

As decided by School President William Taylor and the Business Office, Flik Independent School Dining has replaced Sodexo.

Tom Morris, the division director of the Upper School, claimed that he is “really happy with the results so far, and what’s more important is that the students are happy.”

Luther Mercer, a vegetarian, said that he ate the spinach soup, vegetables, and pasta with Flik.

“It tasted like cafeteria food,” Mercer said. “The soup was good, it was close to home, but it tasted like cafeteria food.”

Student Kathryn Smith, also a vegetarian, was more enthusiastic about the change.

She claimed that she enjoyed Sodexo’s services last year but is also happy with the different vegetarian options that Flik serves.

“I appreciate the options that Flik has given me, and it is a lot easier than making my own lunch. I am a happy vegetarian,” said Smith.

Francesca Healy, a sophomore, is also a vegetarian who uses Flik Dining Services.

“I mostly just ate sandwiches and the same thing everyday, which was very boring,” Healy said, referring to Sodexo.

When asked about Flik she said, “I like that they have vegetarian options and that the food is a lot healthier.”

She claimed that Flik was good for school food.
