Seniors Derek Dixon and Hallie Gillam, and juniors William McBride and Ryan Young model the new Team Carson and Adam’s Army t-shirts available in the Spirit Shop. The shirts went on sale on Friday, December 5th.

A new t-shirt is currently being sold in the St. George’s Spirit Shop in support of junior Adam Cruthirds’ “Adam’s Army” and third-grader Carson Head’s “Team Carson”.

The Reverend Hester Mathes, the deacon at Church of the Holy Communion and a former teacher at the St. George’s Germantown Campus, originally proposed the idea for the joint t-shirt to Ms. Jennifer Vasil, Upper School English teacher.

“I asked Mr. Taylor if he would support the idea,” Ms. Vasil said. “He said yes, and Mrs. Jennifer Phillips is the one who coordinated the shirt’s production, including drafting Courtney Tipton to make the design.”

Junior Courtney Tipton was the designer of the new t-shirt that highlighted both female St. Jude patient, Carson Head, and male St. Jude patient, Adam Cruthirds.

“Mrs. Phillips told me to do something with a gryphon,” junior Courtney Tipton said, “but also something that wasn’t too girly or too boyish so it would be where everyone could wear it.”

All of the proceeds from the shirts sold will be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in support of their cancer research. The cotton shirt style will be sold for $15 and the athletic tech shirt will be sold for $20.
