The 2018 NFL season is almost ready to kick off after months of anticipation. The preseason has been marred by boring games, as always, but it’s also been marred by injuries. Last year’s list of injuries was atrocious (51 players tore an ACL), especially because the injuries came most frequently to high-profile players. But this year, it’s the sheer magnitude of preseason injuries that has been stunning. At last count, 27 players have torn their ACLs. The debate over whether to abolish the preseason is now more heated than ever, but fans across America are ready for football.
