Varsity volleyball beats Immaculate Conception on senior night

The Gryphon volleyball team defeated Immaculate Conception Cathedral School in three sets on senior night.

Before the game, seniors Sarah Thompson and Julie Anne Joyner were honored in front of the crowd.

“I was really excited,” Joyner said. “I’ve been playing since sixth grade, and I’ve been looking forward to it.”

Senior team manager Britney Pepper was also honored before the game.

Following the ceremony, the team started strong. They won three sets in a row with a final score of 25-12, 25-3 and 25-12.

Overall the team was pleased with the win.

“Everyone got to play,” Joyner said. “It was a lot fun.”

With the win, the team is currently second in the league standings behind Harding. The regional playoffs will begin on Oct. 1.
